Recalling meeting him at a [performance of Wagner's] Götterdämmerung in Vienna, congratulating him on the new post he wishes to assume, observing that it is no easy undertaking, saying that the two operas he names--[Cornelius's] Barbier von Bagdad and one by Glinka--are an excellent beginning, commenting on the works, saying that the Glinka is available from Fürstner, to whom all rights were transferred by Glinka's heirs, etc.
